FOR SALE: Ego TYRION, a modern, super athletic 5yo European Sport Pony stallion bred in Australia.
Summersea has spent years genetically crafting this little pocket-rocket and raising him to his present glorious state. Tyrion represents the next generation of jumping pony stallions in Australia. Indeed, arguably, he is the first of his kind in Australasia and he would stand competitively alongside pony jumping stallions in Europe today.
Tyrion is by Cool Dancer (imp FS) from a small Studbook Zangersheide mare “Petite Ego Z”.
Tyrion has 3 generations of the great Alme’ in his pedigree. His granddam is the Alme’Crack Z mare, Ama Ego Z. This dam line also produced the following stallions: Cocaine Ego Z, Bravado Ego Z, Cartalme Ego Z and Cartalme 11 Ego, Z, and too many successful competition horses including Twins Ego Ava, Lafayet Ego Z (exp NZ), Ego Camalme’, Ego Cyrano, Chopin Ego Z, Misty Blue Ego Z, etc.
Tyrion is a strong, elegant mini horse. He does not look like a pony and exhibits the character and conformation of a horse bred to jump competitively at the 120-140mtre level.
Tyrion has been officially measured this year without any hoof or height “preparation” at 14.2 and 1/8.
Tyrion was professionally broken in by Tom and Rachael Smith aged 3years and ridden lightly until aged 4.5yrs. Confirming an instinctive, forward, keen and careful attitude to jumping, Summersea responsibly placed him under Alycia Targa (Aus dressage rep and successful GP competitor) for flatwork training.
At this time, Tyrion is working at Preliminary/Novice level and effortlessly jumps a 50cm course. Tyrion loves to jump and we see no need to jump him further until his flat work is more developed. He has officially competed at two dressage competitions placing with 67% & gaining 7’s for paces at such an early stage of his career.
Tyrion is an easy and confortable ride. He can be left for months and hopped on to continue from the last lesson. He performs predictably and consistently in the rain, wind or sun, even with markers and other paraphernalia being blown about. He is consistently forward and has an abundance of energy but does not jog or act “fizzy” and travels the same in front or behind the pack. Tyrion is an absolute delight out on rides being reliable with other horses and sure-footed on trails at a trot and a canter.
Tyrion is easy to keep with hard, correct hooves, at this time of his career not requiring shoes. Tyrion is an efficient food converter.
Tyrion has always been managed next to other horses and presently lives over a single electric fence to a gelding and another stallion. He spends his days carrying sticks (big and small) around the paddocks and playing with his feed bin and jumping over fallen trees.
Tyrion comes to the gate to be caught, is easy to float, wash, brush, clean hooves and gives pony rides to 3 yo’s.
Tyrion would suit an experienced adult rider or teen that aims to showjump or event at the higher levels. Tyrion is the type of horse that will work the problem out for the rider…effectively, he is a “point and go” pocket-rocket machine that will carry most riders.
Tyrion has been kept entire for obvious reasons. He has a unique pedigree with a depth of European black type jumping blood not yet seen in Australasian jumping ponies. He is stunning to look at and prodigiously athletic both physically and in his attitude. Tyrion is registered and DNA typed with the Australian Sport Pony Association.
This gem of a pony is for sale $22K neg.

Tyrion has never covered a mare or had semen collected. For the buyer that intends to geld, Summersea strongly recommends collection and freezing first.
